Scotland have kept their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive, after a draw with Switzerland in the European Championships on Wednesday.

Qualification would make history, as the team hasn't got to that stage in a major tournament before.

Manchester United midfielder, Scott McTominay scored Scotland's only goal in the 13th minute to go ahead, but former Liverpool player, Xherdan Shaqiri got one back for Switzerland for the game to end 1-1.

The point from that draw means Scotland can still go through from their group to the next round of games.

The draw with Switzerland means Scotland can still potentially qualify

Scotland have one more match to play in the group stage against Hungary.

At the end of the group stage matches, the top two teams from each group through to the knockout stage, along with the four best third-placed finishers.

If Scotland lose their last game against Hungary then they will not qualify, if they win, they have a chance of finishing second and going through automatically.

If a team finishes third, whether they qualify to the knockout stages will be decided on things like points, goal difference (that's the difference between the number of goals scored for and against) and the amount of goals they have scored.
