Baby cranes taught by humans dressed up as adult cranes
How do you teach a baby crane to fly away from danger? Dress up like one of course!
Lots of crane chicks are due for release from a wildlife centre in Gloucester next month.
And experts have picked an unusual way of showing them how to avoid dangerous dogs and foxes once they've been freed.
In the wild, just about everything a young crane does is learnt from the adult birds.
By taking eggs and hatching them in captivity, there are no longer any adult birds to learn from.
So the project has to provide surrogate mums and dads for the young birds by dressing up as adult cranes!
