Hurricane Gonzalo hits Bermuda

Hurricane Gonzalo has hit Bermuda, off the coast of North America, with strong winds of about 175km per hour.

The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) has warned of high winds and a "life-threatening storm surge".

Lots of people have lost power because of the hurricane, according to the Bermuda Electric Light Company.

Many have boarded up windows and doors, and stocked up on food and supplies in supermarkets.

Hurricane Gonzalo was labelled as a category 4 storm on Thursday but was moved down to category 3 and then 2 on Friday.
