Head lice or nits are on the rise in schools, NHS says

It's time to talk about head lice or nits as they're also known. Some people feel itchy just thinking about them.

There's been a rise in the number of nit outbreaks in England after schools went back in September.

They're those little see-through insects that measure about 3mm and like to live in your hair and on your scalp.

The NHS said at its peak on 18 September there were 2,196 visits to its nits page in one day - that's roughly one click every 39 seconds.

But what do we really know about nits? Ricky's here to separate fact from fiction for us.
