Lesser long-nosed bat saved from extinction

You may not have heard of this bat, but you should now because it's having a pretty good week!

The lesser long-nosed bat - native to Mexico and the United States - has been taken off the endangered species list.

That means that it's no longer at risk of extinction.

Hard work by scientists and bat conservationists have helped turn the situation for this species around.
