Kell Brook to get IBF title shot if he beats Vyacheslav Senchenko

British welterweight Kell Brook will be able to fight for the IBF title if he beats Vyacheslav Senchenko in October.

Devon Alexander will defend his IBF title against Shawn Porter in November and Brook has been confirmed as the mandatory challenger for the winner.

Brook has had three previous fights against Alexander postponed because of injuries to both fighters.

"It has been a very difficult time for me but I know when I do finally get the chance I will be ready," said Brook.

"But first up I have got to beat the guy who beat Ricky Hatton."

Senchenko, 36, beat Hatton in November 2012 and 27-year-old Brook is wary of the threat his opponent will pose when they meet in Sheffield on 26 October.

"I know I can't afford to make any mistakes and I have got to be at my best to beat him," added Brook.

Meanwhile, Hatton, who was stopped by Senchenko in the ninth round of their fight, warned Brook against standing toe to toe with the Ukrainian.

"He's a lot tougher than he looks," said Hatton, who retired for a second time after his defeat by Senchenko.

"He's a tall boxer-type but he's not skilful. Kell is a really good boxer and Paulie Malignaggi [who beat Senchenko in April 2012] showed that Vyacheslav can be outboxed.

"So if Kell chooses to box him rather than go to war with him like I did, and picks his moments when to put it to him, I think he will do the business."
