Tsotsobe has failed to impress in the early stages of his Essex career

Essex fast bowler Lonwabo Tsotsobe has branded his time at the club as "the worst two months of my life".

The 27-year-old South African has aired his frustration on Twitter after being dropped from the Essex County Championship side.

He tweeted: "I've never felt like this ever. This is the worst two months of my life. And you know when you start regretting yourself it isn't good."

The winter signing has taken five wickets in three Division Two matches.

Tsotsobe's last first class appearance came in the draw with Derbyshire two weeks ago, where he took one wicket in 22 overs at a cost of 106 runs.

He was subsequently dropped by head coach Paul Grayson for last week's match with Surrey.

Grayson said at the time: "He's just not bowling well enough. The simple fact is that we haven't seen enough from him in Championship cricket and the decision comes down purely to form.

"Whether you are an overseas player or not, it doesn't really matter, if you are not performing then changes have to be made."

Tsotsobe, who has taken nine wickets in five Tests for South Africa, expanded on his frustration, answering a follower on Twitter who asked, "not feeling it at Essex?" with, "Not at all".

Adding: "Talent is over-rated, it's the hard work you put with talent that gets you places. And it's just impossible to work in this environment."

Tsotsobe's 40-over figures have made better reading this season, taking eight wickets at an average of 30.25 in five matches.
