Essex Eagles 125-2 (16 overs) beat Somerset 150-7 (20 overs) by eight wickets (D/L method)

Mark Pettini's half-century helped Essex to an eight-wicket win over Somerset in the T20 Blast at Taunton.

The hosts looked well set on 100-1 after 12.1 overs, but the dismissal of Craig Kieswetter (40) sparked a collapse and they finished 150-7.

Pettini's 60 not out helped Essex to 106-2 but bad light forced the players off with 5.5 overs still to play.

However, they returned 15 minutes later with Essex needing a revised 19 from 15 balls and Ravi Bopara's four sealed it.

The result, coupled with Hampshire's defeat by Surrey, means Essex move to the top of the South Group, while Somerset are down in eighth.
