Third Test, Barbados (day five):

New Zealand 293 & 331-7 dec beat West Indies 317 & 254 by 53 runs

New Zealand beat West Indies by 53 runs in the third Test in Barbados to secure a 2-1 series victory.

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum declared on their overnight 331-7 to set West Indies 308 to win.

Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Mark Craig shared nine wickets as West Indies were bowled out for 254 with 13 overs left.

New Zealand's series victory was only their second in the West Indies, and came after home series victories against the same opponents and India.

Debutant Jason Holder, batting at number seven, provided the hosts' sternest resistance with 55.

New Zealand won the first Test in Jamaica by 186 runs before West Indies levelled the series in Trinidad with a 10-wicket victory.
