Bangladesh have named seamer Shafiul Islam as a replacement for fellow paceman Al-Amin Hossain, who has been sent home from the World Cup for breaching a team curfew.

Hossain broke rules by being outside the team hotel after a 22:00 deadline.

Cricinfo reported, external Bangladesh were informed of Hossain's breach by the anti-corruption and security unit of the International Cricket Council.

Shafiul has taken 58 wickets in his 52 one-day international appearances.

The ICC's event technical committee approved the switch as an "exceptional circumstance".

Hossain did not feature in Bangladesh's 105-run win against Afghanistan while their second game against Australia in Brisbane was abandoned.

Their next match is against Sri Lanka in Melbourne on Thursday.
