Glamorgan 288-6 (50 ovs): Ingram 130, Wagg 62no, Topley 3-51

Essex 142 (37.1 ovs): ten Doeschate 47, Wagg 2-17, Meschede 2-23, Ingram 2-23

Glamorgan won by 146 runs

Colin Ingram hit a magnificent 130 as Glamorgan thrashed previously unbeaten Essex by 146 runs in the One-Day Cup.

The South African hit a six and 12 fours in his highest one-day score and Graham Wagg raced to an unbeaten 62 off 36 balls as they made 288-6 in Cardiff.

Wagg then took two wickets with the new ball as Essex were reduced to 63-6.

Ryan ten Doeschate dug in to make 47, but fell lbw to Dean Cosker, and Ingram took 2-23 as the visitors were bowled out for 142 with 12.5 overs remaining.

It was an uncharacteristically poor batting effort by Essex, with Ravi Bopara bowled by David Lloyd for 22 and Jesse Ryder holing out in the deep off Craig Meschede, having made only 13.

Ingram's 144-ball innings, by contrast, was a model of one-day batting and he was well supported by Aneurin Donald (37) and Chris Cooke (36) in stands of 77 and 83.

It was Ingram's second century in successive games, following on from his 109 against Kent on Tuesday.

Wagg, meanwhile, was back to his best in his first game since a blow on the helmet in last Friday's T20 Blast game against Gloucestershire.

Glamorgan coach Toby Radford on Ingram's century:

"He anchored the innings, and the way he got the other players to play around him to build partnerships was most impressive.

"He admitted that this was his favourite competition and he has certainly proved a point.

"This was one of our best performances, and will put us in good heart for the game against Hampshire on Sunday."
