Pakistan v England: Stuart Broad says tourists need 'one big score'

England bowler Stuart Broad says the tourists need one batsman to make a "really big score" if they are to win the second Test against Pakistan.

The tourists closed day two on 182-3, trailing Pakistan's first-innings score by 196, with Joe Root unbeaten on 76.

"We had a really good day," said Broad after England excelled in Dubai. "But tomorrow's a huge day in this Test.

"If we can get up to Pakistan's score or even beyond it, the pressure shifts to them."

He added: "We need one guy to get a really big score like Cookie [Alastair Cook] did last time, and everyone else to support him.

"Four hundred is always a talked-about score but there's no reason we can't look to go further. The first hour tomorrow will be vital. We don't want to be losing too many wickets before the second new ball."

As well as Root, England have Jonny Bairstow not out on 27 and Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler still to bat.

Broad has also praised the performance of his fellow bowlers, particularly seamer Mark Wood, who finished with figures of 3-39.

"We got what we deserved this morning, taking six [wickets] for 90-odd [runs]," he said.

"Yesterday he [Wood] was probably the pick of the bowlers because of the aggressive nature of the way he bowled and also the areas he hit, so he got his reward in the wickets column [today]."
