Tranmere midfielder Andy Robinson has signed a new one-year contract at Prenton Park, starting on 1 July.

The 31-year-old rejoined Rovers in January and made 15 appearances for Les Parry's side last season.

Robinson started his career on the Wirral and has also played for Swansea City and Leeds United.

Boss Parry said: "It's not every day that you're able to attract players of his ability and I'm looking forward to having the whole season with him."

Robinson, who has made almost 300 career appearances and has scored 62 goals, added: "I really enjoyed being back here last season and I can't wait to get going again.

"There's a decent squad here and hopefully we can get off to a good start and have a strong season."

Robinson's decision to extend his stay at Tranmere follows the signing of New Saints defender Danny Holmes on Monday, external.
