Northampton Town have signed midfielder Arron Davies following his release from Peterborough United.
The 27-year-old, who has agreed a two-year deal at Sixfields, had his Posh contract terminated by mutual consent on Wednesday.
"I know the aim for this season is promotion," Davies told BBC Radio Northampton.
"This is where I wanted to come and I have a good working relationship with Gary Johnson."
"I'm hoping to play central midfield this year but I can play anywhere," Davies added.
"I believe I'm a good player and I believe this is the place to get the best out of myself."
Davies was taken to Peterborough last summer by current Cobblers boss Gary Johnson, who also signed him for Yeovil in 2004.
He made 16 starts and 12 substitute appearances while at London Road.
The Welsh international winger had two spells at Yeovil, either side of a stint at Nottingham Forest, before heading to Posh last year.
"I spoke to [former Peterborough team-mates] Nana and Steve Collis and they only had praise for the club so that helped to make the decision easier as well."
