Kidderminster have signed young keeper Dean Lyness, formerly with Birmingham City and Hearts, on a one-year deal.

Harriers assistant manager Gary Whild told BBC Hereford and Worcester that the 19-year-old will provide competition for Danny Lewis.

"We see him as being an ideal candidate to come in and vie for the number one spot with Danny," he said.

Lyness, a product of the Birmingham City youth academy, was capped by England at Under-17 level.

He is yet to make a competitive first-team appearance.

Whild also confirmed that the Harriers are keen to make further additions to their 20-strong squad.

"We have got a few lads coming in for pre-season who we want to look at," he said.

"We have kept a bit of money back so there is definitely the potential to maybe bring one or two in like we did last year with the likes of Matty Blair and Callum Gittings."
