Norwich City have signed Huddersfield winger Anthony Pilkington for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Carrow Road, with the option of a further 12 months.
Pilkington is Paul Lambert's sixth signing since the Canaries secured promotion from the Championship.
"The Premier League is the best league in the world. When you're a boy you dream of playing in it one day," Pilkington told the Norwich website.
"It's great to see the club is on the up and we'll be fighting tooth and nail to stay in the Premier League."
The former non-league player scored 14 goals in 40 appearances for the Terriers last season, but has not played since March after breaking his leg and dislocating an ankle, external.
Stockport signed the midfielder, external from North West Counties League side Atherton Collieries in December 2006.
He netted 17 times in 80 league games for the Hatters before making the switch to the Galpharm three years later, external.
Lambert added: "I'm sure Anthony will be a big player for us.
"He was great for Huddersfield in his time there and he will add to the team for the season ahead.
"He is a player that can play on either wing, which is great."
Seven months ago Pilkington agreed a new contract with Huddersfield, tying him down until 2014.
But boss Lee Clark admitted the midfielder's future is at a higher level.
"From his arrival at this club, I stated that he had the potential to play in the Premier League and we knew that this day might come," he told the club website.
"To be fair to Anthony, I don't believe he would have left to go to a Championship club."
Terriers chairman Dean Hoyle added: "We did not need to sell Anthony for financial reasons but at the same time we did not want to stand in his way.
"We have secured the deal we wanted. It is a multi-million pound deal which could easily prove the best in the club's history."
