Huddersfield sign Danny Ward from Bolton permanently

Huddersfield Town have brought Bolton winger Danny Ward back to the club on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old has signed a three-year-contract after impressing on loan last season, scoring four goals in 10 appearances with the League One side.

Manager Lee Clark told the club website: "We know he can be a top player for many years to come.

"He's still very young, so he can develop even more - he loved his time here and wanted to come back."

Clark added: "I must admit that when we first approached Bolton we did it out of hope more than anything else, but we kept knocking at the door and eventually the opportunity presented itself.

"I'm delighted with the wide men we have at the club now. We like to use our wide men and they all have talent in abundance.

"Our strikers should be rubbing their hands together, because they know they will get plenty of chances again this season."

Ward signed his first professional contract at Bolton making his Premier League debut in August 2009.

He scored against Huddersfield during an impressive six-month spell at Swindon that season and again before arriving at the Galpharm Stadium.

Ward told the club website: "I want to play first-team games and I think I'll get the opportunity to do well here.

"I had to make the decision whether I wanted to start the season on a bench getting five or 10 minutes here and there, or hopefully getting in the starting XI at Huddersfield playing a big role.

"I wasn't here for the longest time last year, but I loved every single minute. The lads made me feel very welcome from day one, we played some great football and the fans were fantastic as well.

"There is definitely more to come from me in a Huddersfield Town shirt yet. I'm still only 20 and there is tons more to come from me, hopefully this season."
