Chairman Kevin Heaney insists Truro City is "priority"

Truro City chairman Kevin Heaney claims the non-league club remains his priority, despite being part of the takeover deal for Plymouth Argyle.

Heaney is involved with Bishop International, the Gibraltar-based property firm which has funded the Argyle deal by buying Home Park.

"It's to do with the development, I'm not involved with the football side," Heaney told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"I'm Truro chairman through and through and that's what I want to remain."

Under Football League rules no individual can be involved in the ownership and running of two clubs.

Property developer Heaney has bankrolled Truro City as they have gone from playing local league football to the Blue Square Bet South, two divisions off the Football League.

"I'm very proud and very privileged to be the chairman of Truro City and that's why I'll stay as long as the supporters want me to be chairman," he said.

"My priority is to see Truro City achieve league status, which we hope to achieve over the next two to five seasons, and to remain as chairman."
