Spear has yet to make his first-team debut for Torquay United.

Torquay United manager Martin Ling is hoping to send teenage forwards Ray Spear and Ashley Yeoman out on loan.

The duo, both 19, are set to follow defender Ed Palmer, who is on loan at Blue Square Bet South side Truro City.

"Yeoman, Palmer and Spear are good players but they just need to get some game time," Ling told BBC Radio Devon.

"If people are going to take them I want them to play, because we have got the nucleus of reserve games over the next month."

Yeoman has made just one appearance for the Gulls in October 2008 while Spear, who impressed in pre-season, has yet to make his debut.

Ling added: "We've had some interest in Ashley at the moment and a little bit on Ray as well.

"It's sometimes difficult for clubs to take young players and put them straight into the team.

"We'll open up the gateposts to the Conference, Conference South, Conference North and even the level below that, if it gets them pitch time."
