Port Vale have signed defenders Rob Kozluk and Liam Chilvers.

Kozluk, 34, was a free agent after leaving Sheffield United at the end of last season and has agreed a deal until 1 January.

Centre-back Chilvers, 30, has moved to Vale Park on a one-month loan deal from Notts County.

Vale boss Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:, external "What I've been seeing this season I'm not too happy with and I want to freshen things up."

Both players could make their Valiants debuts in Saturday's local derby against Crewe Alexandra.

Chilvers, who has previously played for Preston, Colchester and Northampton will provide defensive cover for John McCombe and Gareth Owen, who have both been struggling with injuries.

The versatile Kozluk will link up again with Adams after previously playing under the Vale boss when he was manager of Sheffield United last season.

Meanwhile, Notts County youngsters Liam Mitchell and George Nicholas have joined Lewes on loan for a month.
