Burton Albion have signed Argentine attacking midfielder Andres Gurrieri on a three-month contract, subject to official confirmation.

The 22-year-old joins after a month-long trial spell in which he scored two goals in each of his friendly matches against AFC Telford and Stoke City.

Gurrieri has previously played in Uruguay and Italy.

He said: "I want to show what I can do. The players here are very good and it's going to be difficult."

He said: "I've had the opportunity to score during my trial which is important. I hope to play with the team and score again. I'm looking for my chance to play with them which will be good for my confidence.

"I will do my best for the team and fans. I've already been to see [Burton's] matches and the fans are great."

Gurrieri has also had trial spells with Bournemouth and Plymouth this season.
