Midfielder Francis Coquelin has agreed a new "long-term" deal with Arsenal.

The 20-year-old joined the Gunners from Stade Lavallois in 2008 following a successful trial and made his debut in a Carling Cup match aged only 17.

He returned from a year's loan to French Ligue 1 side Lorient in August and has since established himself in Arsene Wenger's first-team squad.

However Coquelin will be sidelined for a few weeks after damaging a hamstring in Monday's FA Cup win against Leeds.
