Goalkeeper Freddy Hall aims to keep Cobblers place

Hall won his first two caps for Bermuda last year

Bermudian international goalkeeper Freddy Hall wants to keep his place in Northampton Town's starting line-up.

The 26-year-old joined the Cobblers last summer and made his debut in last weekend's 2-1 victory for the League Two strugglers at Morecambe.

He was handed his chance after Shane Higgs - brought in by new manager Aidy Boothroyd - suffered a long-term achilles injury.

"It's just great to be playing," Hall told BBC Radio Northampton.

"I was standing by and the opportunity came about with Shane being injured.

"I was thankful we got the win and hopefully we can drive on from this now and keep winning."

Hall began his senior career with Bermuda Hogges and had a spell on trial with Plymouth Argyle.

He made his full international debut against Trinidad and Tobago last September.

"Given the opportunity here I hope to keep on improving and help this team the best I can," he added.

It is not yet clear whether Boothroyd will look to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper to replace Higgs.
