Rotherham United to sign striker Daniel Nardiello

Rotherham United have signed Exeter City striker Daniel Nardiello.

The 29-year-old, who won one cap for Wales in 2007, will join the Millers on a two-year deal from 1 July when his contract with the Grecians expires.

Nardiello scored 11 goals in 40 appearances this season as Exeter suffered relegation from League One.

"Daniel is a gifted young man who I tried to sign a couple of times for my previous club," boss Steve Evans told Rotherham's official website.

"We have tried our level best in the last week; we showed him around the stadium and spoke to the kid again at the weekend.

"We are really excited to be working with him because he is a talented boy."

Nardiello began his career with Manchester United, making his debut for Sir Alex Ferguson's side in the League Cup against Arsenal in 2001.

After two loan spells with Barnsley he joined the Tykes on a permanent deal in 2005, scoring one of the goals in their League One play-off final victory over Swansea the following year.

He then moved on to Queens Park Rangers and Blackpool but neither move really worked out and loan spells at Hartlepool, Bury and Oldham followed, before he settled with Exeter in 2010.
