Norwich City have signed Norway international midfielder Alexander Tettey for an undisclosed fee from French side Rennes.
The 26-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Carrow Road with the option of a further 12 months.
He will not be available for Saturday's visit of QPR as the Canaries are yet to receive international clearance.
"He's a very good player with international experience," said Norwich boss Chris Hughton.
"He's at a good age for us. I firmly believe he will be a valuable asset for us," he added.
The defensive midfielder has been capped 14 times for his country and has made 82 appearances for Rennes, whom he joined from Norwegian outfit Rosenborg in 2009.
Ghana-born Tettey featured for Norway against England in a Euro 2012 warm-up match in May.
