Tanzania, Malawi and Rwanda are through to the quarter-finals of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Uganda.

They were joined by Ethiopia in the last eight after Saturday's final group games in Kampala.

In Saturday's matches, Tanzania thrashed Somalia 7-0 in Group B while Burundi edged out Sudan 1-0.

In Group C, Malawi beat Zanzibar 2-0 and Rwanda overcame Eritrea by the same margin.

Mrisho Ngassa scored five goals for Tanzania to take his tally for the national team to 24.

John Bocco helped himself to a brace as coach Kim Poulsen's side ran riot against hapless opponents.

A goal from Chris Nduwarugira gave Zanzibar victory over Sudan at the Wankulukuku Stadium and first place in the group.

Under-fire Malawi coach Kinnah Phiri was let off the hook after victory over Zanzibar saw the Flames make it to the knock-out stage.

The quarter finals, which start on Monday, will see Rwanda face Tanzania, while defending champions play Ethiopia.

Burundi take on Zanzibar and the Harambee Stars of Kenya play Malawi.
