Braintree Town 1-1 Woking

  • Published

Dan Holman scored a late equaliser as in-form Braintree drew at home to fellow mid-table outfit Woking.

Braintree started brightly and Holman was twice denied by keeper Seb Brown.

But Jayden Stockley opened the scoring for Woking striking a superb 25-yard volley into the top corner of the net.

The visitors were unable to see the game out and were made to settle for a point, after Holman found the top corner with a brilliant left-footed long-range volley six minutes from time.

Devonshire praises Braintree character

"I thought it was a good game, the conditions weren't great. Both teams put in a lot of effort and two quality strikes made the 1-1 scoreline.

"The pitch is soft in places and you can see the ball getting caught under the players' feet.

"Players of both sides should take a lot of credit for the entertainment.

"We got what we deserved in the end. I felt we shaded it but I'll take 1-1. We showed a lot of character to get a result."
