Aruna Dindane: Crystal Palace sign Ivory Coast striker

Crystal Palace have signed Ivory Coast international striker Aruna Dindane on a deal until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old, who had a spell at Portsmouth in 2009-10,, external was a free agent after leaving Qatari side Al-Sailiya Sport Club in December.

Eagles boss Ian Holloway told the club website:, external "Aruna has been training with us and we have seen what was needed to get him up to our level of fitness.

"I know what he can bring to us if he is in the right condition."

Dindane has won 67 caps for the Ivory Coast, scoring 11 goals and appearing in two World Cups.

Since leaving Portsmouth,, external where he scored 10 goals in 24 games, he has played for three different sides in Qatar.

Holloway believes the former Anderlecht and Lens man can make an impact as his side bid for promotion to the Premier League.

"Behind the scenes we have been working with him to get him to the condition that we want," Holloway continued. "I am hoping he returns to what I have seen him play like before. He's very strong and a goalscorer.

"He has been working hard to reach those levels and if he can do that he might add something to the group that could help us in the weeks to come.

"I would like to thank the chairman for giving me the chance to bring him in and we will see what he can do for us."
