Chesterfield have signed striker Eoin Doyle from Scottish Premier League Hibernian on a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old, who played his final game for Hibs in Sunday's Scottish Cup final defeat by Celtic, agreed a deal with the League Two side last month.

Doyle formerly played under Spireites boss Paul Cook when they were at League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers.

"Knowing Paul was massive in me coming here. I got the best out of me," Doyle told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"He's very attack-minded which is always helpful for a striker and I'm really looking forward to playing under him again.

"Hibernian are a big club and I've got no regrets about my time up there. It would have been nice to bow out with a medal but it wasn't to be."
