Bury: Rob Lainton signs after Bolton Wanderers departure
- Published
Goalkeeper Rob Lainton has signed a two-year contract with League Two club Bury following his departure from Bolton earlier this summer.
The 23-year-old was a regular in Wanderers' first-team squad but failed to make a senior appearance during his time at the Reebok Stadium.
He played in a 2-1 win at Radcliffe Borough on Saturday and impressed during a trial with the Shakers.
Lainton will challenge Trevor Carson for the goalkeeping spot at Gigg Lane.
He is the sixth new addition to Kevin Blackwell's squad this summer, while Tom Soares and Euan Holden have signed contracts having initially been released at the end of last season.
