Chelsea's Daniel Pappoe joins Colchester United

Colchester United have signed young Chelsea defender Daniel Pappoe on loan until 12 January.

A mainstay of Chelsea's youth set-up, the 19-year-old missed much of last season through injury.

Born in Ghana, the centre-half joined the Blues academy at under-12 level but is yet to make a senior appearance.

The U's took two Chelsea players on loan last season, with keeper Sam Walker and midfielder Billy Clifford playing 37 times between them.
