Nile Ranger scored his first Swindon goal as the League One side pulled off a shock win in the Capital One Cup second round at QPR.

Ranger joined Swindon following his release by Newcastle this summer and finished at the far post after meeting Alex Pritchard's cross.

QPR's Mo Shariff forced a save from Swindon goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

But Pritchard collected a loose pass from Clint Hill before scoring a second in added time.

Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper told BBC Wiltshire:

"It's a good result for the club and gives us a chance to earn some money.

"We were 1-0 and we got what we expected from what is probably a Premier League squad in the second half - they came at us, but we stood up to it.

"We did invite too much pressure, but the players threw their bodies in the way and got the breakaway to finish it off."
