Ross County: Derek Adams keen to strengthen his side

Ross County manager Derek Adams says more than one top flight player could be on their way to the Dingwall club.

He is keen to strengthen his side further after their first Premiership win of the season at home to St Mirren.

"We've spoken to a number of players but we have to wait and see if that's going to be possible," Adams told BBC Radio Scotland.

Stuart Kettlewell and a Richard Brittain provided County with the three goals that beat the Saints.

It followed three consecutive defeats to Celtic, Partick Thistle and St Johnstone.

"We pressed and passed the ball well and defended a lot better than we've done in our last two games," Adams said.

"They've been hurting from the last two games and they showed what a good side they are.

"It's a very tight league, win a game and you move up a couple of places. You don't want to draw too many games, you want to win."

And Adams underlined his belief that success at County comes via a whole team effort rather than simply individual talent.

"You see that when players move away from this football club, they struggle to get into other teams," he said. "Because it's not them that's been the ones that have done well, it's the collective unit."
