Premier League predictions: Lawro v David Baddiel
- Published
BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.
His opponent for the next round of Premier League fixtures is comedian, novelist, TV presenter and Chelsea fan David Baddiel, who is currently touring his stand-up show called 'Fame: Not the Musical'., external
Baddiel co-hosted the Fantasy Football League show in the 1990s and co-wrote 'Three Lions', England's official anthem for Euro 96.
"Three Lions was totally brilliant," Baddiel told BBC Sport. "In my show now I talk a bit about being remembered for Three Lions and how that is a double-edged sword because I've done other stuff as well, but it was an amazing experience.
"It was not about getting accolades from other show-biz people, it was about Wembley Stadium singing along to that song and I was singing it too, because it was not about us, it was about the England team doing well. It was an amazing thing."
He tips his beloved Chelsea to see off title rivals and Premier League leaders Manchester City on Monday.
Baddiel joked to BBC Sport: "I should say at the start that I am not Nostradamus - I know I have been brought in to restore some credibility after Vic Reeves, and also Robert de Niro and Sylvester Stallone were guests, but remember Stallone was in 'Escape to Victory' so he has actually played at the highest level and I don't know if I can beat that.
You can see all of Baddiel's predictions on Football Focus at 12:00 GMT on Saturday on BBC One and the BBC Sport website (in the UK).
