Braintree Town 0-2 Lincoln City

  • Published

Lincoln beat Braintree for the second time in four days to keep alive their faint play-off hopes.

Goal scorers Luke Foster and Jake Sheridan had already gone close before Foster opened the visitors' account, heading in a Sean Newton corner.

Sheridan then doubled the lead after the break with a fierce shot from 25 yards out.

Braintree keeper Nick Hamann kept City's tally to two with a fine save to deny Sheridan in injury time.

Lincoln are 12th in the standings but only five points of the play-offs, while Braintree sit one point and one place behind.
