Middlesbrough's on-loan Real Madrid goalkeeper Tomas Mejias will miss four to five weeks with a dislocated finger.

The 25-year-old Spaniard joined the Championship side in January, but complications with the deal meant it was only announced on 12 February.

He made his debut in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Sheffield Wednesday.

Boro keeper Connor Ripley was loaned to Swedish club Ostersunds this week, so Jason Steele and Dimi Konstantopoulos will now compete for a starting spot.
