Dagenham & Redbridge 1-1 Morecambe

Morecambe captain Mark Hughes scored a dramatic late equaliser for his side to earn them a point at Dagenham.

The Daggers dominated early on, with on-loan Luke Norris seeing his free-kick well saved by Barry Roche.

After the break, Norris' shot was controversially adjudged to have been handled in the area by Shrimps defender Chris McCready, with Medy Elito coolly dispatching the kick to put them ahead.

But in the 89th minute, Hughes scored from a tight angle to rescue a draw.

Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett told BBC London 94.9:

"We've conceded late on twice in less than two weeks and we have to address that.

"It's disappointing because we've come so far, they've scored so late on and there's not a lot we can do about it.

"But we haven't been as clinical or as effective at home as we were at the start of the season."

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"It's a fair result. We were hard done by on the penalty. If someone's going have a shot a yard away from you and it hits you on the hand, in my opinion that's not intentional handball.

"We kept plugging away and we know we're never beaten. They've got great determination, they kept asking the questions and thankfully got the goal right at the end."
