Hereford United 0-1 Grimsby Town

Alex Rodman scored his sixth goal of the season as 10-man Grimsby edged closer to the Conference Premier play-off places with victory over Hereford.

Rodman broke the deadlock in the second half with a sensational strike into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Scott Kerr saw red 10 minutes later for a second yellow card but they held on.

The result left Grimsby outside the play-offs on goal difference only but with two games in hand, while United are just one point above the drop zone.

Grimsby Town manager Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside:

"Today there was no real excuse. It was a nice pitch, a nice day - I just didn't think we played with enough urgency right from the off.

"One piece of excellent play from Alex Rodman sort of won us the game.

"We got there and the table looks better so I'm pleased in a sense, but I certainly want more from us as a team.

"Scott Kerr is a wholehearted player and he leads by example. I said it at half-time and I said it after the game, we have to try and take his lead a little bit."
