Wrexham 3-0 Nuneaton Town

Nuneaton Town's slim Conference Premier play-off hopes were all but ended after defeat at Wrexham.

The Dragons took the lead when Johnny Hunt crashed home a rebound after Nuneaton goalkeeper James Belshaw had saved Mark Carrington's initial shot.

Wrexham doubled their lead when Andy Bishop clipped Neil Ashton's accurate cross into the top corner.

Ashton added a late third, poking in the rebound when his penalty was saved after Gareth Dean fouled Bradley Reid.

Nuneaton are now eight points off fifth place with three games remaining.

Wrexham manager Kevin Wilkin told BBC Radio Wales:

"I was delighted with that today. I know it's my old club and everything else, but I just thought the purpose and manner we set about the job in the first half was excellent.

"We didn't turn the ball over in the wrong areas and we looked comfortable on it.

"We need a bit more pace and legs in the side to stretch teams... [but] we had a better shape and organisation about us."
