Derby County are to sign goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell when his contract with Premier League Newcastle expires at the end of June.

The 19-year-old has agreed terms on a one-year contract and he will compete with Kelle Roos to provide cover for first-choice number one Lee Grant.

Mitchell played for the Magpies reserves at the age of 15, but did not feature for the first team.

He will replace Adam Legzdins, whose Derby contract is about to expire.
