Midfielder Robbie Weir made his 100th start for Burton Albion in last season's League Two promotion play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

Midfielder Robbie Weir has signed a new two-year deal with League Two side Burton Albion.

The 25-year-old made 50 appearances last term as the Brewers finished runners-up to Fleetwood Town in the promotion play-off final at Wembley.

Weir is the ninth player to extend their stay at the Pirelli Stadium, with Lee Bell among those to recommit.

"Most of the squad is in place, which is something we wanted to achieve," said Burton manager Gary Rowett.

"Now it's about sorting out those last couple of deals as we look towards pre-season in a very good position."

Weir has played 101 games, scoring nine goals, since joining Burton in 2012 after being released by Tranmere Rovers.

Rowett has already made four new summer additions, with Stevenage forward Lucas Akins the latest arrival.
