Blackburn Rovers have signed Alex Baptiste on a season-long loan from Championship rivals Bolton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old defender joined Bolton on a free transfer from Blackpool last summer and played 43 times during his first season in Greater Manchester.
He started his career at hometown club Mansfield Town and has scored 19 times in 438 career appearances.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old left-sided player Markus Olsson has agreed a new one-year contract at Ewood Park.
The Sweden international, twin to former Blackburn defender Martin, played nine times last season, primarily at full-back.
He has made 49 appearances since joining from Halmstads BK in January 2012.
