Stranraer 1-2 Ross County

Liam Boyce struck a second-half winner as Ross County came from behind to beat Stranraer in the second round of the Scottish League Cup.

Sean Winter gave League One Stranraer an early lead as the home side attempted to emulate last season's win over County.

But Melvin de Leeuw's shot levelled for the Premiership side on the quarter-hour mark.

And Boyce netted from close range to settle the tie.

Derek Adams' County made the long trip from Dingwall to Stranraer still without a win this season.

And the top-flight outfit got off to a poor start when Winter curled a delightful shot over Mark Brown.

The tie was level again when Dutch winger De Leeuw hooked the ball over his own shoulder and into the net following Jordi Balk's cross.

Ross County gained the lead for the first time when Boyce converted on the rebound after goalkeeper David Mitchell had denied Graham Carey.

Stranraer chased an equaliser and only Balk's goal-line clearance kept out Winter's header.

And Brown also denied Winter with the forward firing in a long-range effort late on, ensuring County enter Wednesday's third-round draw.
