Swindon Town have signed midfielder Jake Reeves after his contract with Brentford ended by mutual agreement.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Bees' youth system at the age of 16, scored one goal in 25 appearances last season.

Reeves, who was contracted at Griffin Park until next summer, has now signed a deal with Swindon until January 2015.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton told the club website:, external "Jake is well liked, well respected and very talented but he needs to play week-in, week-out,"

"With the level of player we have here now, that opportunity is not available at Brentford. His contribution should be recognised and I wish him well for the future."

Reeves, who had a loan spell with AFC Wimbledon in League Two in the 2012-13 season, made his first-team debut for Brentford in 2011 and went on to make 47 appearances for the club.
