Blackburn have signed Everton defender Shane Duffy for an undisclosed fee, as well as Middlesbrough keeper Jason Steele and Fulham midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe on season-long loan deals.

Duffy, 22 is a former Northern Ireland B and Republic of Ireland international and has signed a three-year deal.

Steele, 24, made 142 first-team appearances for Boro.

Tunnicliffe, 21, is a former Manchester United trainee and played for the first team twice before joining Fulham.

Duffy has previously had loan spells at Burnley, Scunthorpe and Yeovil Town, where he spent all of last season.

He made his first-team debut for Everton against AEK Athens in December 2009, but had to undergo life-saving surgery the following year, external after lacerating his liver in a freak accident during a training match.

The defender made a full recovery and was rewarded with his senior international debut for the Republic earlier this summer.
