Woodman helped England under-17 to European Championships success in May

Hartlepool United have signed Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on a month-long loan deal.

The 17-year-old, who is the son of Magpies goalkeeper coach Andy Woodman, goes into the Pools squad for the trip to Northampton on Tuesday.

He was part of the England under-17 squad that won the European Championships in 2014.

Pools parted company with goalkeeper Andy Rafferty, 26, by mutual consent last month.
