Freddie Sears scored his third goal in four games to help Colchester to victory.

Colchester came out on top in League One's basement battle with a comfortable win over Crewe.

Freddie Sears opened the scoring when he converted Sanchez Watt's cross form six yards.

Substitute Rhys Healey made it two when he latched bounded onto Gavin Massey's pass and drove past Ben Garratt.

Watt finished the scoring from close range after a Sears cross was deflected by Alan Tate.

Defeat leaves Crewe with just four points from nine games, while Colchester have lifted themselves out of the bottom four.
