Keith Curle inspired Carlisle to their first win of the season in his home debut as manager as David Amoo's goal gave them victory over Tranmere.

Amoo got on the end of Danny Grainger's corner to head in the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute.

Before that, Patrick Brough had missed two good chances for the home side, who had not won in the league for 15 games.

George Donnelly could have levelled for Tranmere late on but fired a shot over from 12 yards out.
