Southend United have signed Yeovil defender Jakub Sokolik and West Ham striker Elliot Lee on one and three-month loans respectively.

Czech Sokolik, 21, had a two-month loan spell at Roots Hall during last season's campaign, while he was still on the books at Liverpool.

He was released by the Premier League club in the summer and joined Yeovil on a free transfer.

Lee, 19, has made two substitute appearances for the Hammers.

Sokolik has played 11 times for the Glovers but has been loaned out as part of manager Gary Johnson's reshuffle in his squad.

"I really enjoyed my time at Southend last season and when I had the chance to come back, it was something I was interested in," said Sokolik., external

"Hopefully, during this month, I can play plenty of games and have an effect on the team as we look to push up the table."
