Portsmouth have completed the loan signings of Colchester United midfielder Marcus Bean and Gillingham defender Matt Fish until early January.

Bean, 30, has not played since late August, making just three league appearances this season.

He started his career at QPR and had spells at Blackpool and Brentford before joining Colchester in June 2012.

Fish, 25, began his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Dover in 2008 and on to Gillingham in July 2011.

He missed nearly all of the 2013-14 campaign after suffering a serious knee injury playing against Colchester last August and not returning until May.

The defender has played six times this season, three times in League One.

Blues boss Andy Awford told the club website:, external "They're two experienced players, who know what is required at this level.

"We've had them watched and know what they can do - we hope that they can come straight in and make an impact."
